Barnes & Noble Kicks Off Get Pop-Cultured™

Special Events Including “Throwback Thursday” 1950s and “Time Travel Weekend”

Barnes Noble, Inc., the nation’s largest retail bookseller and the leading retailer of content, digital media and educational products, today announced the lineup for the first week of the Get Pop-Cultured with Barnes & Noble celebration. On Thursday, July 2, Barnes & Noble stores nationwide will host a very special Throwback Thursday 1950s event, where customers can experience the most iconic moments in pop culture from that decade.

Outlander – Sunday, July 5, at 2pm On Sunday, July 5, at 2pm, all Barnes & Noble customers are invited to be transported to the intriguing world of the popular Outlander series with trivia, giveaways and more. Fans can discuss the bestselling book series by Diana Gabaldon, including the screen version of Outlander that just wrapped up its first season and has introduced a whole new audience to the story. Barnes & Noble is offering fans of the book and of the show a unique opportunity to get together with other fans and discuss the series. The spirited discussion will center around key topics including how customers first discovered the series, who recommended Outlander to them, what their thoughts are on the TV series and so much more. The Outlander event is designed to get these conversations going, with a special discussion about the books and its screen version that will include trivia questions and explore the interesting information included in TheOutlandish Companion book written by Diana Gabaldon.
