Well now, this looks interesting. I hate that they are messing with one of my most favorite movies, but this might actually be good, especially with its multicultural cast, Dorothy as a police officer and Toto as a German Shepard.

So move over Once Upon a Time, Emerald City is coming to NBC!

In NBC’s first trailer for Emerald City, Dorothy is so far from Kansas that she might have found her way to Westeros. The Wizard of Oz gets a dark and sexy makeover in the latest take on L. Frank Baum’s legendary book series.

Tarsem Singh (Mirror Mirror) directed all 10 episodes of the first season, which premieres Jan. 6 at 9 p.m. ET on NBC.
