Outlander S2 ended with Claire determined to go back to Jamie, but in Season 3, viewers will get to catch up on what she has been going through in the 20th century. To the surprise of pretty much no one, she and Frank will struggle to put their marriage back together.
Actress Caitriona Balfe told TV Insider that Claire’s efforts are futile. After all, no one can live up to the standards set by Jamie (Sam Heughan), especially not Frank (Tobias Menzies).
At this point in Claire’s life, Jamie’s dead. She’s trying to build a life after him, but once you’ve experienced a love so all-consuming, nothing can live up to it.
