At the same time, Amazon sets April 30 for Jordan’s starring vehicle ‘Without Remorse,’ an action thriller based on Tom Clancy’s book.
Amazon and Michael B. Jordan’s production banner, Outlier Society, have magnified their partnership, signing the actor and his company into a first-look film deal and an overall television deal.
As the first order of business, Amazon has given a debut date for Jordan’s starring vehicle, Without Remorse. The action thriller, based on the 1993 novel by Tom Clancy, will launch globally on Amazon Prime Video on April 30.
Outlier is coming off a film deal with Warner Bros. Pictures, where it was housed since the beginning of January 2019, and set a first-look deal with Amazon a month later. The new deal now puts both Outlier divisions under one roof and gives Amazon its newest double-barreled content supplier.
According to Amazon’s announcement, the film pact will see Outlier “produce and acquire elevated films showcasing diverse, bold filmmakers and talent for the studio’s ever-growing original movies slate.”
But the deal won’t just be constrained to film and TV as Jordan and Outlier will also have cross-collaboration with Amazon’s wide array of businesses, from fashion to Audible to music and beyond. Already Jordan appeared in Amazon’s Super Bowl spot promoting its Alexa service. Amazon is touting the deal as a “360-degree creative collaboration.”
