Spoilers for A Discovery of Witches S2 finale ahead!
A Discovery of Witches Season 2 premiered this morning on Sundance Now, Shudder, and AMC+, leaving fans with their final glimpses of Matthew (Matthew Goode) and Diana (Teresa Palmer) in the 16th century. After a full season of the lovers hunting for Ashmole 782, it was finally time for them to return to the present day. Armed with her ninth knot and advice from her own timespinning father (David Newman), Diana was able to transport herself and Matthew back to modern day Sept-Tours. We think. We assume. Actually we don’t know for sure.
“You know, we’re very known for doing cliffhangers,” Teresa Palmer told Decider yesterday with a smile in her voice, explaining that Season 2 ending mirrored Season 1. “I think people can sense that we’re heading into something massive and we are. I finished Season 3, filming it.”
Palmer might have finished shooting A Discovery of Witches Season 3, but Americans only just got their hands on the Season 2 finale. In an off-screen time-hopping twist, British fans were able to binge the series all at once when it premiered in January. Americans have been viewing A Discovery of Witches Season 2 on a weekly episodic rollout. Palmer told Decider she is “stoked” Americans are now all caught up.
